State Bank of India is unlikely to tap the overseas market for a bond issue in the next three months, Managing Director
Hemant Contractor said. On Nov 9, SBI Chairman Pratip Chaudhuri had indicated that if market conditions are favourable, the country's largest lender could consider raising at least $500 mln via an overseas bond issue in Jan-Feb. Late July, the
country's largest lender had raised $1.25 bln through a five-year overseas bond issue, with a coupon of 4.125% payable
semi-annually.
